Welcome Back 2020/2021 School Year

Free welcome back clip artI certainly hope you've had an amazing start to the school year and are excited to be back at school. There are a few reminders I would like to post for you. Please take note of each item so students are set up for success:

1)    Reminder about “Soft Entry”. To help ease students coming into the school, our grade 5/6 doors will be open at 8:15 and students are allowed to come in anytime between then and 8:30 when class starts. During that time, students will be supervised and allowed to do any catch-up work, read, meet with the teacher, get a head-start on other activities, etc.

2)    Some things that your student could bring and keep at school:

a.     Indoor shoes, if you haven’t already brought a pair.

b.     A water bottle that goes home every day to be cleaned.

c.     A reading book that can be left at school for a period of time.

d.     A pair of their own headphones and ear buds that can be left at school.

e.     A deck of their own cards if possible. We will use these for math (number sense, probability, data, operations etc.)

f.     An extra face mask in case you need to change it for any reason.

NOTE: Students are welcome to bring their own hand sanitizer if they wish but please ensure it is unscented as we have many students and staff with sensitivities to fragrance.

I am looking forward to a safe, healthy, and happy start to this new school year.
